The Bellbowrie Shopping Plaza Markets are once again to be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month starting at 8am. There have been continuing enquiries from market stall holders and locals as to the possibility of the Bellbowrie Markets starting up again. The next Market Day will be on Saturday 3rd March 2012.
Snap Fitness’s member appreciation party will also be held on Saturday 3rd March 2012 starting at 8am. They will be having taste testing, competitions & prizes, raffles, Jumping Castle and BBQ etc.
Ipswich Grammar School will be holding information sessions on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th March 2012.
McDonalds Restaurant is approved. The development is scheduled to start next month with an opening date expected in the 2nd half of 2012. It will be located on the vacant block on the corner of Sugarwood Street and Moggill Road. The trading hours for the Restaurant will be from 5.30am to 10pm 7 days and the Drive-Through will be open 24hrs 7 days. Brisbane City Council’s website shows details of the approved development.
The Bellbowrie Tavern development is expected to start in May 2012. The anticipated opening date is January 2013. The ALH Group will be operating the family friendly venue. It has been designed with half of the space dedicated to accommodating families with indoor and outdoor enclosed areas for play and dining. It will be located on the vacant block on the corner of Birkin and Moggill Roads. Once the Taverns building work begins the current main entrance to the shopping plaza on Birkin Road nearest Moggill Road will be re-located approximately 100 metres further down to the second entrance along Birkin Road so that queuing traffic will not be an issue.
BWS Drive-Through Liquor Store is to be located in the old discount store next to the Pool Shop and will provide the convenience and choice of an up-to-date development. The carpark area on the side of the shopping plaza will be modified to accommodate entry to this and the new Tavern.
Coffee Shop chain Gloria Jean’s Coffees are interested in opening a shop, however to date they have not been able to secure a Franchise Partner. So first in first served to anyone interested in starting a Coffee Shop/Café. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
The Extension development application process is progressing well. Subject to development approval and final negotiations, the plans include a Woolworths Supermarket and provide for more retail shops and services. It is estimated that development will commence mid-2013. The shopping centre was expanded 10 years ago to incorporate Coles by the current owners. It is the view that with more retail space to choose from the Plaza will be more attractive to bigger national brand retailers as well as the smaller traders. “Build it and they will come!” This new major extension development will help to provide more variety and choice for the local people and the needs of the growing population. It will be located on the vacant land along Sugarwood Road and will be merged to the existing building by being built above the current rear car park. This building design will be similar to the new Kenmore Library and will be higher than the flood level to protect against any future flood event. One of the major delays in rebuilding after January’s Flood was the order and manufacture of replacement electrical transformer equipment located in the current switch room. This new extension will be built with another Plant Room located higher than flood levels to house additional electrical equipment and generators to enable the supermarket and shops to function after such an event. Please email any queries to us at bellbowrieshoppingplaza@iinet.net.au. We would be pleased to answer any questions regarding the future developments of the Plaza.
